The Ozer Payton Nelson Method (OPN) is a patient-centered professional communication method which allows clinicians and patients to exchange thoughts and ideas about the patient's
treatment plan while encouraging maximal patient participation and enlisting the patient's energy and commitment to his (or her) health. The OPN Method can turn a patient into his (or her) own ultimate resource because the OPN Method is an interactive communication method that includes the patient in decision making in his (or her) treatment planning. This can translate into building a better rapport with each patient. By tapping into the patient's intrinsic motivation, clinicians can more fully understand their patient, what motivates the patient to improve and build a treatment plan that is customized exactly to the wants and needs of that patient. This shared approach to treatment planning benefits not only the patient, but the clinician as well because clinicians have reported a higher level of satisfaction with their jobs when using the OPN Method with patients because of the increased involvement the patient demonstrates when achieving goals he (or she) helped create.

Knowing that you build a unique, customized and exceptional treatment plan for each patient you treat differentiates you from your colleagues. By NOT applying a cookie-cutter approach to patients, and by focusing on the patient's desires, you are truly applying a patient-centered model with your patients. Register

"It's a very common sense, easy to understand approach that was easy to apply."
